Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let us keep you signed in, remember preferences like your language, and — if you are included in measurement — count how often a page or a button is used.
This policy covers cookies across LinearPilot: this public website, and the product itself once you sign in. The two set different cookies, so each section below says which one it applies to.
Cookies we use
Essential cookies
Set by the product when you sign in, to keep your session active. Browsing this public site sets no essential cookies.
Preference cookies
Your language, remembered so the site stays in it on your next visit. We also keep a record of the choice you make in the cookie banner, so it does not ask again.
Measurement cookies
A random identifier, set only if you are included in measurement, so we can count how often a page or a button is used. The events go to our own servers and never leave them — there is no third-party tag on this site and no advertising network. Decline in the banner, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser, and the identifier is never set; if you already had one, we delete it. Visitors in countries that require consent first are not included unless they accept. Three cookies do this. lp-visitor holds the random identifier and lp-visit counts how many times you have visited the home page; both are kept for 180 days. lp-attr is kept for 30 days and records which version of the home page you saw, so we can tell which one led to a sign-up. Unlike the other two, lp-attr is readable across linearpilot.com and its subdomains, because signing up happens on a different subdomain. None of the three is shared with anyone outside LinearPilot. A fourth cookie, lp-ref, works differently: it holds the code from a referral link for 30 days, regardless of the choice above, so the sign-up form can credit it. Like lp-attr, it is readable across linearpilot.com and its subdomains.
Managing cookies
The banner is a real control: declining keeps the measurement identifier off and removes it if you already had one. You can also clear cookies at any time through your browser settings — on this public site that resets your language, and in the product it signs you out.
